Still Standing

Still Standing

Still Standing

Shared photo credit with my brother who spotted this old building and thought it would make a great photograph. Together, we edited the photo taken with an iPhone 5s. Using the camera+ app we desaturated the photo to black and white with slight adjustments for brightness and contrast.

During the process, we were talking about how this barn was once brand new with proud owners anticipating its use. Still standing, even though usefulness has waned, the building gives us a glimpse of past promise and dreams.

I continue to take part in Lucile’s Photo101Rehab. And, as part of the black and white photo challenge given to me by desleyjane, I am to post a B&W photo every day for 5 days and also invite someone else each day. Since she posted an interesting picture to complete photo101 and was looking for another photo challenge, I invite The Armchair Sommelier to consider joining us.

I know this is a busy time of year. So if the timing isn’t right or you have already been invited, I certainly understand.

  1. Wow, I felt for sure that you had manipulated the image to cause the “Crookedness”. How amazing that this building is still standing, kudos to you and your brother 🙂

  2. I like how you pointed out the symbolism of past promises. I am excited to have found your blog here!

  3. I love the barn. Well done!
