Cosmic Gaze (One Word Photo Challenge: Teal)

-Cosmic Gaze-

Gaze upon the skies
With wonder and amazement
Spinning fire, open space

No limits, infinite hope
With ambition and tranquility
Gaze upon the heavens

  1. Such an intriguing shot. Tell me more about it. I love the title and words as well. ‘Cosmic gaze’ – so mysterious and pretty.

    • Thank you Jennifer! When I saw teal as the color, I thought of the color of my living room wall. I keep this decorative orange object on my mantle because I like the color against the teal. It may actually be a type of vase but I have never used it that way. When I applied a backlit filter it almost looked like it was glowing and made me think of a planet. I think the swirls give it a feeling of movement. I used another filter on my camera + app to darken the edges. I love thinking about the vast universe and the heavens so that is where my mind went! This may be more info than you were looking for! But I like how ordinary objects can be transformed in photos!

      • I love the way a camera can transform ordinary objects! This image really makes me think of a burning sun or a lava filled planet- something spacey of some sort. I’m amazed that it was a back light filter, I definitely thought it was actually lit.

  2. WOW! glad you made the explanation – I was wondering what it was. I was ready to believe it was some kind of planet…. lol..:)
