Walled Words
I knew I had to have this framed tapestry as soon as I saw it at a town festival. It seemed like a pricey purchase at the time, but I told myself that it would be worth the cost. I knew it would be perfect hanging on the brick wall in my computer room at home.
The size seemed just right and I thought the rich wooden frame would look nice against the brick. A picture of books seemed ideal for a home office.
I thought the fact that the artwork was a framed tapestry was unusual. The colorful antique books almost looked real enough to touch. I liked the way the books seemed well-worn but well-loved. I liked the way the pattern repeated itself, although I didn’t notice it at first. I tried to imagine the book topics. History, romance, poetry and personal journals all waiting to be discovered.
The artwork on my wall reflects the way books, reading and writing have always been an important part of who I am.
