Numbers Game

Hopscotch

Hopscotch

Walking around the park, it made me smile to see this game of hopscotch drawn on the park walkway. When I was a kid, we searched to find “chalk rocks” in our yard to draw squares on the sidewalk in front of the house! Searching and drawing was as much fun as tossing and hopping!

  2. We had two different designs for our hopscotch chalkings…… the first was 1, then 2 and 3 across it, 4 in line with 1, 5 and 6 in line with 2 and 3, 7 in line with 1 and 4, 8 and 9 as 2 and 3, 5 and 5, and 10 right at the top. The second was 1 2 and 3 in a line of boxes, 4 and 5 across, 6 on its own, 7 and 8 across and 9 at the top (no 10). Oh, those were the days.

  4. Drawn on our front sidewalk, it used to be fun to look out the window to watch someone (a grown-up!) walk by and hop on the board! Such a great memory, Terri! Thanks so much.

  5. Thank you for the roadtrip to memory lane; such a great time we used to have playing hopscotch.
