So Very Susan

Black Eyed Susan

Black Eyed Susan

I thought this flower was beautiful and took a picture. But, I had to look it up to find out what it was called. I typed in “yellow flower with brown center” and discovered it was a Black Eyed Susan after searching the images! I noticed the tiny hairs on the leaves and stems along with the golden yellow petals and dark brown center dome which lead to the identification. The beauty is in the details.

I also learned that this flower, a member of the sunflower family, attracts butterflies and bees. I learned that there may be medicinal uses for the flower. And, I learned that the symbolic meaning of the flower is justice.

I am posting this photo as my entry for the daily post weekly photo challenge: Details
