Category Archives: Sky Gazing
I took this picture last weekend. I woke up early because of the chill in my house after my power went out overnight. The power outage was a surprise because the snowfall wasn’t extreme in my area. It barely stuck to the roads. Fortunately, my power came back on after about 9 hours; some people in nearby counties, where there was heavy snow were out for days!
Seeing this beautiful sunrise was the reward for my chilly “suffering!”

Yesterday, I noticed that the theme of Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge for the week was sky. Looking up, I found it to be a pleasant surprise to see the moon in the blue sky of day.
At times, the half moon had to peek through the soft clouds floating across the sky.
I always look for images in the clouds. This cloud formation struck me as a Phoenix rising in the sky.
What do you see?
JNW’s Color Your World photo challenge theme for today is sky blue. I just love a clear blue sky! And, if you look close, you can see the pretty blue feathers on this bluejay too! I was double blessed with the beautiful view!
Have a great weekend, everybody!
There is little more graceful than a bird in flight. Soaring, gliding, owning the sky.

This week, we are challenged to show something that exists harmoniously with its surroundings!
Here’s a little sunset orange memory painted across the sky!

Blue mood undone by blue skies.
Six words to go along with my JNW’s Color Your World-Blue photo challenge entry today.
My mother first noticed this distinct cloud line and encouraged me to take the photograph. We thought the straight line separating colorful clouds from clear sky was unusual. The picture was taken near dusk and a storm was on its way. The sharp cloud line mirrors the power line, and the dark trees on either side give a mirror image effect.
I believe this photo meets the daily post Half and Half challenge of posting a picture with two clear halves.
Does anybody else see a smiling face? I also see a dolphin! It’s funny how we all see different things when we gaze at the clouds.
Maybe, what we see is dependent on our mood or our experiences. Maybe, we see what we want to see.
I’m curious. What do you see in these clouds?
