The Greatest Love

The Greatest Love

The Greatest Love

I believe God calls us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. This is my response to the Daily post weekly photo challenge to share what one love means to me:
One Love

God is Love.

Yes, I love God. I love Jesus. I believe that the love of God extends to all people, without exception, whether or not all people believe in Him.

I am a Christian. Some people may find that offensive. But, I don’t mean it to be. I don’t have all the answers, but I know that God is love and can only act out of love. I do not place limits on God. And, I believe that God welcomes all people to share in His love.

We may not all agree on theology or biblical details. I study the Word of God and think about what it means to me. I am not a blind follower. I hold fast to the Bible verse (Matthew 22:37) that says “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.” I am constantly asking questions and seeking God’s will in my life. I am constantly growing in my faith.

As I said, I don’t have all the answers, but I am open to sharing my faith. I lean on God. I am grateful for God’s mercy. I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for me. I believe in His resurrection. I believe in a real Heaven.

This statue of Jesus carrying the cross is located at the cemetery where my beloved mother is buried. To me, it represents the greatest love of all.

Be Still (Nature Chills Challenge #3)

Be Still

Be Still

Rest beneath the branches
of the weeping willow
and settle into nature

Let stress float away
like ripples in the water
or a cloud in the sky

Be still
and find comfort
in the certainty of God

Psalm 121

Psalm 121

This is a photograph of a section of stained glass in a nearby chapel which displays an associated message from the biblical book of Psalms. The verse may give you comfort in trying times.

Psalm 121
“I lift up my eyes to the hills, from whence does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth.”
