Okay, this is only in the format of found poetry…even this took a long time! Can’t wait to see what everyone else came up with!

Ode To The Sun

Ode To The Sun

The heat of your affection
Brings warmth to my face
As my heart starts to race

Your light gives direction
Toward you I run
Oh, glorious sun

You brighten my day
You highlight my way
My steps you will map
My flow you will tap
At the point of no return
Destiny to learn

Pal’s Place

Pal's Place

Pal’s Place

My bassett is hungry for more
Room on the couch he longs for
His pure heart is golden
Forever beholden
He nudges me onto the floor!

A brush of wind paints a rosy face. Chilled skin brightens, tightens. Pink cheeks stretch into a smile. Stinging cold is rubbed away before numbness sets. With crisp air, comes clarity. No more heated words, no more furious flush of skin. Cooler thoughts prevail.

Early Bird Blues

Early Bird

Early Bird Blues

There once was a bird who needed his sleep
Morning came and his slumber was deep
He stayed in his nest
Dreaming his best
Waking late, no worm did he reap

*posted for writing101 with the day 17 assignment to search our old drafts for inspiration. I had wanted to post this picture before but beneath it had only written the old adage that the early bird gets the worm. As a night owl, I am no stranger to singing the early bird blues!
