Ice, Water and Bittersweet Waiting

“If I offer you a glass of water, and bring back a cup of ice, I’m trying to teach you patience. And also that sometimes you get ice with no water, and sometimes you’ll get water with no ice. Ah, but that’s life no?”-Jarod Kintz

How long should we wait? How long is too long to wait?

There are no set rules. I think the easy answer is that we should wait as long as it takes!
We may wait a minute. We may wait a lifetime. But, we all wait. Every single one of us waits for something.

We learn to be more patient. We learn to hold on to hope. We learn about perspective and discover what is really important to us.

We wait when it is impossible not too. We wait because we need to.

The decision to fill our waiting time with the bitterness of impatience or with the sweetness of anticipation is left up to each of us to make.
