Snowy Spring Sunrise

Snowy Sunrise

I took this picture last weekend. I woke up early because of the chill in my house after my power went out overnight. The power outage was a surprise because the snowfall wasn’t extreme in my area. It barely stuck to the roads. Fortunately, my power came back on after about 9 hours; some people in nearby counties, where there was heavy snow were out for days!

Seeing this beautiful sunrise was the reward for my chilly “suffering!”

Sunrise Reward

Sunrise Reward

Sunrise Reward

I am not a morning person. I hit my snooze alarm multiple times before I can bear to get up. That means I have to set my clock to ring early as a buffer so I have time to hit the snooze button. I am not above trying to fool myself into getting up on time.

I say “thank you” as soon as my feet hit the floor. I think that starting the day with words of gratitude is a good habit. Still, I go about my morning routine in a blasé manner. Routine is routine after all.

Maybe, I like the little thrill that comes from beating the clock, the adrenaline rush of meeting the press for time. Maybe.

I do know that the best reward for getting up early is a view of a beautiful sunrise!
